Established in 2009, this 75 km² sanctuary protects the night skies across the upper Jizera river valleys. Free from artificial light pollution, night-time star visibility is up to 40 times greater than in major European cities, revealing over 2,000 visible stars and the Milky Way with the naked eye.
The best viewing locations are Hala Izerska (Poland) and the historic hamlet of Jizerka (Czechia).
